Manado Tourism Office Holds Bimtek Event to Boost Creative Economy in Support of Quality Tourism


IDNEWS.CO, MANADO, - The Manado City Tourism Office once again captivated the attention of Creative Economy Actors from various subsectors.


Through the Technical Guidance (Bimtek) for Creative Economy Development (Ekraf) organized by the government, an array of highly competent speakers were present, including the Head of the Manado Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag), Hendrik Warokka, S.Pd., DEA, the Chairman of BPD Hipmi Sulut, Natanael Pepah, the Secretary of the Department of Tourism, Herdy M.V. Mawa, SH, Aj., Ak, the Coordinator of the Indonesian Cities Network in North Sulawesi, Richard Rahim, and the Chairman of the Manado City Government's Social Media Team, Bryan Sumilat.


The event, held on Wednesday (14/6/2023) in the morning, commenced with the opening remarks by the Secretary of the Department of Tourism, Herdy M.V. Mawa, SH., Aj., Ak., representing the Head of the Department of Tourism. Herdy emphasized the crucial role of creative economy actors in driving economic growth, particularly in stimulating the interest of the local residents to develop micro-businesses.


"Especially now that Mayor of Manado, Andrei Angouw, is prioritizing the tourism sector, with micro, small, and medium enterprises being one of its supporting pillars, rooted in the concept of tourism. Hence, technical guidance is essential to enable business actors to collaborate effectively with the government towards the realization of a high-quality tourism sector," expressed Herdy during his speech.


Furthermore, Herdy highlighted that this training serves as an exemplary model, especially in the effective implementation of tourism-based businesses.


"We will continue to organize similar activities in the future, ensuring that the tourism sector becomes a distinguishing advantage for the city of Manado," concluded Herdy.
